FR255: Name all current bugs you are encountering - Garmin, please fix!

Hi,

I am quite frustrated about the massive amount of bugs the FR255 has even in the latest firmware. since so many bugs are listed in this forum in countless threads, lets list them here so that Garmin maybe starts working on them.

- Control Music on the Phone: Pausing the music stops the phone playing, but the music screen on the watch moves on, even jumping to next songs despite the music being stopped and not playing on the phone

- Workout App: Choosing a run daily workout suggestion opens the Strength App and not the Run app. I cant start the running workout and have to go via the Run App. This makes the workout App quite useless

- Workout Animations: After about 20sec the workout animation video gets stuck, and the screen backlight stays on for unlimited time. Only pushing a button reanimates the video until 20sec later it gets stuck again

- Breadcrumb Map: The planned route and the actual course you accomplished are overlapping in an unfortunate way, which makes the map rather unusable

- Wrist HRM: Is regularly way too low, up to 20bpm lower than a *** belt measures. Makes Training Status and other data unusable.

- Intensity Minutes: For no reason the watch adds up to 200 IM per day without me doing any considerable workout or even having nowhere close this high heartrate

...

  • It always goes to 75 if the plot is lost.

To me was the other way - on a very light activity hr grows till 165 and then lost the plot goes to 75 and back to normal 100 bpm. OHR sensor is useless after the last update.

  • which firmware version are you on? I reset my watch and it has improved a little, but my VFC is still *** and my heart rate jumps from 60 to 120 in seconds when I start the activity. It has never been like that.

  • I am on 16.19. I did notice a small change in heart rate after installing 16.17(?). Activities that used to have too low heart rate measurements got closer to real values. After that it has been working quite well for me. The log from the interval running was surprisingly similar to what the chest strap logs usually look like. It was a quite difficult activity to measure, with lots of short runs and resting. I would not expect wrist heart rate sensors to keep up that well.

  • Thank you for your comments. I will keep checking the VFC after reset and see if it gets back on track.

  • I sold my 255, lost my patience with all the bugs and unfulfilled promises. too much marketing, not enough quality. Eventually the only thing which worked reliably was Garmin Pay and a simple timer during my Yoga Workouts. I can use my Casio for the later, and my mobile for payments. A pity. I really tried to like Garmin and the 255.

  • Since latest update stress level daily has gone up . And I manage my stress level quite well but since the update , my my watch says my stress level is high constantly even during sleep .

Hrv tanked since latest update as well no matter what I do . Nothing change in my routine buy yet hrv keeps suggesting I need rest for the last 5 weeks !

  • I see no changes in stress level over the last few updates, but I also have a HRV drop. It seems to happen every year around this time. It is normal that HRV is lower in the winter than the summer. Going from high to low values gives me a "strained" status.

  • One more BUG on 1 Min intervals - running distance is rounded and displayed in km - 0.24 km and not in meters as before 238m. That doesn't matter whether you ran 236 or 244 meters,  you will see only 0.24 km, very unpleasant.
