Bug in 14.15: The lap button function cannot be switched off

I cannot deactivate the lab-button function. Of course I can go to the settings of the running activity and turn this off. But the current firmware 14.15 ignores this setting. When I press the lap button I will get a new lap. Even when the lap button function is turned off.
Btw: Feature Request: A function to delete the last user lap while I’m running. An unwanted lap is always a prank without a good end.

I'm seeing this on some of the firmware updates, at least for the x45 series. They tested it in the beta version in September 2021, then went to production in November 2021. Apparently also implemented…

I’ve noticed the same issue. I can’t turn off kely lap on my FR 255.

Here is workaround that works for me: I was able to switch off the lap button function on the watch settings, but not via Garmin Connect App. I have also noticed that the lap button function is always active after an firmware update. So, be cautious.
It is little bit ridiculous, but this Check-Up is on my Todo-List for my next race.

On the 255 and most newer Garmin watches:

Hold UP, select Activities & Apps, select an activity, and select the activity settings.
Lap Key - Enables or disables the BACK button for recording a lap or rest during an activity.

Yeah, that's the problem. Mine is already set to off, but once I start an activity (the one I disabled the lap key) and hit the back button, boom, it laps. So even with the lap key set to off, it stills laps if you hit the back button.

That's the problem mentioned and that orignated the thread...

Also, does the lap key get enabled when starting the activity or when starting a workout? Warning to Anyone Using Workouts: The lap button is on even if you turn it off

That's happening only on my workouts (when I import a training from my training calendar)... On regular activity, the back button won't lap... Any idea on how to turn that off on workouts?

I don't think that is a bug, rather by design. I typically don't want to press lap unless I'm in a workout, where pressing lap signifies the end of that step of the workout I'm on. I suggest contacting Garmin directly to see what they say.

Well, it's a running workout, that means it stills a running activity under the "run" settings... As it is, I would expect it to work under that (run) settings not in a different way just because it's a training not just a simple click and run activity...

Allow the lap key to advance workouts to the next step regardless of the lap key setting
