Battery fully charged, but “battery to low” to connect to WiFi

When I try to sync music (Spotify) or just try to sync my watch (Forerunner 255 Music, latest firmware) I keep getting an error (battery to low) after I click “Yes” when asked if I want to connect to WiFi. I get this message even if my watch is fully charged (100%, charged for multiple hours) and/or when connected to a charger. Because of this it isn’t possible for me to load/sync music on my watch.

I already tried resetting my watch, but I keep getting this message. How can I solve this?

  • What if you connect to WiFi first, so the watch doesn't have to ask you? I have the WiFi enable/disable available on the ring menu at the light button. My watch never complains about battery level when I sync or update my Spotify playlist.

  • When I try to connect to WiFi, if it is through yyour suggested option or when start syncing, i get the message that the battery is to low…

Edit: Just tried once more the way you suggested. Enabled WiFi in the ring menu. Tried syncing the music. After selecting the playlist 8 get the message that I have to enable the WiFi (although it is already on in the ring menu). After selecting yes I keep getting the message that my battery is too low…

Although I kept charging the whole time after my first message and the watch is on the charger.

  • I am having a similar problem. Brand new watch, took it on a run today. Battery is at 90%, but I am getting interruptions during my run telling me that my battery is low.  Concerned that the new watch may be faulty..

  • That is not good! During activities my watch just works fine, no error messages or messages the battery is low. However, when try syncing via WiFi I get the message battery power is low, although the watch is charged at 100%.
