Forerunner 255 Series: Disruption When Using Real Time Settings in Garmin Connect Mobile App

I used to experience the same bug on the 13.15 beta: Unable to configure data screens via Android app / extreme lag then disconnection

I just updated to 13.21, and apparently no fix has been done on this topic, I experience the same behaviour: impossible to configure the data screens on the Android app, then disconnections from the watch, until I restart it.

I don't see any mention of this fix in the 13.21 changelog but  closed the thread yesterday saying that it was now fixed.

Am I the only one?

  • Same problem:

    1. Yes

    2. Yes

    3. CH

  • Follow up, I just update to the fresh new 14.08 beta, still the same issue, I'm unable to configure data screens via Android App.
    This is extremely disappointing.

I haven't had a chance to update to the new beta, but that is unfortunate to hear.

  • Guys, today I solved the this problem.

I clear the cache memory of the app Garmin Connect and, now, I'm able to edit the date screens with the mobile. It's very slow, bit it works.

In case any of you don't know how to clean cache, just long press in the app icon -> app info -> clear data -> clear cache (or go to settings in your android --> apps -> locate Garmin connect --> ...)

I hope this helps you :-)

  • Clearing the cache.  Unsynching, uninstalling, and then reinstalling.  None of this worked for me.

  • I appreciate your effort. Unfortunatelly it didn't work for me. Cleared cache and the same situation. Then I tried again but restarting phone. It didn't work anyway. Thanks man.

  • Thank you, but it didn't work. I still can't set up activities on my phone. I'm very sad and I'm disappointed in Gamin.

  • The silence form Garmin is the worst. I've sent Log, screen video and all stuff to Kevin and not even an automatic reply saying "we received your e-mail and we'll contact you soon.
    Very disappointing.

  • Same for me, they replied after 3 weeks asking for a video where i show if there are external sensors connected, after I've sent that one, silence again... hope they are working really hard to solve the bug /s

  • Finally I got a reply from Kevin.
I'm pretty sure all who have already received a reply have received the same message.

"Thank you for the information that you provided. I have submitted this information to our Engineering team for further investigation.  When we know more, or if there is any other info that we need from you, we will be reaching out to you via email.  Thank you for your patience with us while we work to investigate this issue."
Here in Brazil we use to say "patience has its limits".
    I started researching about Coros...
