Battery Drain

Previous questions directed me to a locked thread.

My 255 was at 100%. I went to an event for 1:30.  When I got home I was at 82%. It kept dropping rapidly.   I restarted the watch which seemed to get it out of its funk, but what if it had been during a race? I got the Garmin after my Apple did this during a couple of races.

Is there a fix?

  • I've just had this problem after 15.19 update and you might be right according to my own experience. My battery level has dropped from 83 % to 32 % in the last 24 hours (more than 50 %). I just did a GPS running activity of 1h30min in between with 'All Systems" mode. Yesterday I changed some settings on the watch by using GCM. It is the first time that I have such a problem with the battery. Now I've just restarted the watch and hope that it will solve the issue. Thank you for sharing your experience!

  • last night I also had 55% in the evening, but at 2 in the morning it was only 25%.
Now I also restarted the clock.
    Quatro watch face.
  • Thanks for your help, the last time this happened to me was overnight after I had made some changes to an activity profile via gcm.

  • I'll have a look at this for a possible solution. I did change a setting, heart rate alert for running that evening via GCM and awoke to find my watch had drained by 40% overnight.

  • I also in a boat with 255 about 2 weeks old. Was super happy until now. I did not do any changes as I remember. What was done, my phone got Android 14. Now rebooted my watches and will see.

  • It still seems to be a topic - my freshly charged (brand new out of the box) FR255s dropped from 100% to 85% in 15 minutes. After the restart, it has remained at 85% for the last 2 hours...

  • Fresh new FR255 (3d) (and new Garmin User)

My battery was at 100% before sleep.
    I woke up at 49%

Charged it and lost more than 10% in one hour (doing nothing).
I don't have notification with my phone etc

  • Just restart your FR255, it should do the job in most cases.

  • Same issue with my 255 and after the GC update 3 days ago, it can't be found by my phone. I've removed GC, reset all settings on the phone and GC can't find the watch at all. It's running 17.26 and the app is 4.74.3. In the past I've had to reset all watch settings and re-pair for battery drain. Currently since it wouldn't sync to the phone at all, I've got it set up unpaired and full charge last night to 10 am this morning I've burned through 78% of my battery sleeping.

  • Indeed, a restart made the job thanks!

    + I had GPS on "All+Multi-bands"...

So I've just changed this settings for Running only, otherwise my system GPS default is "Auto selected"
