Backlight settings bug

Although the backlight is disabled with the buttons (and also with the gesture), pressing the down button to enter the widgets turns on the light, in the HR, steps and body battery widgets. In other widgets it does not happen.

EDIT 23/6/2022.

As Duffman19 says, it only happens when the hr widget is visible.
It also happens when taking the PulseOx measurement.

  • Hello! Are you able to post a short video of this issue here?

  • May I have permission to email you?

  • same problem on 955 too. (i have reported it with videos too to Garmin Support)

FWIW, this same problem existed with the 945LTE last year and was fixed in a firmware update. hopefully we won't have to wait too long for this to be fixed)

  • Hi

had the same problem with FR55 and now also with the 255

  • Same issue. First 'glance' is Last Run, and backlight goes on immediately when down button is pressed despite being completely disabled for General Use.

  • Do I have permission to email you? What country are you located in?

  • I can confirm this bug as well. It is the HR widget (or glance, or whatever we're calling them now) that cause the backlight to turn on. You can test by removing the HR glance. This seems to resolve the issue.

As mentioned, this bug existed back in the 945LTE launch and was apparently resolved (I didn't hang on to it long enough to find out). Sad to see that these little UI/UX bugs still exist across most the new models.

BTW, , where are we supposed to submit bug reports these days? I used to write to the beta team, but that process seems to have changed.
