A Fenix 6 Pro protector will fit but its about 4 to 5mm too small so it covers the display but not the black area between screen and bezel.
Yes the actual glass (Garmin calls it the lens) is 40mm based on my measurement. 33mm is just the display size which doesn't include the black edges. That's what makes finding a compatible one so difficult…
