(Known Issue) GPS Recorded Track Shifted by FAR with Respect to the Map

I had a weird issue today. It seems that Garmin put my recorded activity track over 300m to the left with respect to where I in fact actually ran. This is the screenshot I got from this activity. It never happened before. Of course, the GPS signal was acquired prior to starting the activity. Is there a way to solve it?

  • I had this problems too (Fenix 6X Pro FW 22.10) - first time 28/6/2022 and 3/7/2022.

  • Yes. My CPE status is stated as current. Software was updated to 10.40 weeks ago. Apart from watch faces, I have made no changes to any settings this year. GPS was heavily off today, not just a slight shift to one side, on a route that my 245 normally gets right.

  • Forerunner 245 was great till now.

    CPE stated current.

Not just me having this type of issue  60-70 of my training friends having the same issue. Really considering coros now. Garmin have been fking with us after the multi band system is out.

  • How do we do that? Opening a case I mean? Seems like it's affecting a lot of devices.

  • Same, FR 245, f/W 10.40, CPE = Current.

Never happened before, went haywire this morning

  • I have the same problem! 03.07.2022 22:00 running (GF 945) GPS show wrong position. After 20 minutes from start position moved about 200 meters west. This shift lasted until the end of the training.

  • Same issue also at Anzio. I swim a lot, but I'm not Jesus to walk on the water.

Yesterday I had the same issue during an open water swimming.

    FORERUNNER 245 MUSIC vers.10.40 - GPS+GALILEO

  • 10 hours ago my watch seems no GPS for a few minutes for two times and the map shows it suddenly jump to another side for 1k distance which is a hill but I was actually running along sea side. The wrong GPS shift gave me a 3000+ Total Ascent  -_-

mine is 245 and the setting is GPS+Galileo. Version 10.10

i was using only GPS but changed to gps + Galileo because the day before was not able to get full gps signal (green circle) right before start which forced me to make the change.

  • I had the same issue yesterday. 15/20 minutes into the walk it moved 500+m to the north east. 30 minutes later it went back to where I actually was.

Previously the whole run was off by 300m to the east.

  • Haha, same here on Jun 11, jumped over the 1k wide harbour :)
