Garmin 245 wrist monitor light always on

Hi! Just got this device (without music) and I noticed the green light for HR wrist monitor is always on.

I believe it should be on for a few minutes and then off, but it goes on constantly and then blinks like crazy for ages.

The WHR version is 20.04.40. I have the latest software updates on the watch.

Any ideas how to solve this? Thanks!

    Hi. I have exactly the same problem. I turn on the heart rate option, because I want to make a real-time measurement of the blood oxygen level and once finished, I turn off the heart rate option, but I look at the back of the clock and see that the green LEDs are blinking And they don't go out. The only way to turn them off is to turn off the clock and turn it on again.
    Does it happen to someone else, that the green LEDs stay blinking all the time?

    Thanks

    Sorry I try to explain myself better and extend the explanation.
    I have the problem that the green LEDs remain blinking, only when I take a blood oxygen measurement and then turn off the heart rate.
    However, if I activate the heart rate to measure only the pulsations and then turn off the heart rate, the LEDs also go out and therefore there is no problem.

  • Have you installed the latest software update ? It's still beta but solved my problem with PulseOX feature causes Wrist HR not to disable even connected to a chest strap.

    Version 3.52 BETA solved this common issue;

    Hi, yes I updated all the softwares. I was able to turn off the wrist sensor and connect with a chest strap to go for a run and the wrist sensor stayed off. So at least that worked :)

    s I understand it this behaviour is correct, the HR monitoring is 24/7, so the light on the back will always be on, and blink rapidly all the time.

    Hi, I dont think so. I have another device from Garmin and the heart rate monitor takes readings on arm movement and otherwise every now and then. I wore it over night and the light goes on and off as it takes reading but does not glow the whole night.

    Is your other device an older one than the current generation? The way you describe it is how the 235 worked, however with the latest generation of watches and Garmin’s own redesigned sensors it’s now a 24/7 monitor.

    Hello, the other device is a vivosmart HR. So I guess its a bit older. I spoke to Garmin support in the meantime and the friendly lady there said the device should only blink periodically and not nonstop. I will play around with configurations.

  • Try a hard reset and if still the problem occurs, ask for a replacement. My problem is solved after updating to 3.52.
