Button click quality very bad

From the time I bought my 245 replacing the 235, I noticed that the buttons are very hard to press, produce a very strong "click" sound, they seem to have two levels of pressing, and also the pressing is inconsistent: sometimes it is clicky, sometimes not. In comparison to my old 235, they feel very bad and the quality seems worse. Maybe it has to do with the mechanism for the water ressistance, but still, the feeling is very bad: the watch feels cheap because of that.

Did you notice the same in your device?

  • The buttons are very very bad, don't buy this model!

  • Many users who reports problem says it is faulty from the start. That’s why I wrote it. Now it is in fourth day. Still no problem. I hope i wont get any in future. I will report if i have any problem.

  • I had the same issue at 4th day use. I'v fixed it by pressing the buttons under watter. All the buttons works just fine right now. Try it!

  • My "back" button completely jammed / stucked on the 9th day of this new watch.

Sent it back for warranty on Monday and was told to wait for 2-3 weeks in Malaysia. Very frustrating as I have a marathon coming next weekend.

  • I can honestly say that I don't have this problem at all, the buttons on my unit work fine, and I like the fact that the start/stop button requires more of a push as it stops accidental stopping of an activity. The only time a button has stuck is when I was on holiday swimming in a salted pool, but submerging the watch in fresh water (the shower) and pressing the buttons cleared them fine.

I'm far more annoyed about the gap between the glass and the bezel, I run OCRs and the mud gets into that gap and doesn't wash out.

  • I am having the same experience after less than 1 month of use. Its causing the screen and features to go haywire by itself. The start/stop and the UP buttons are stuck on m F245M

  • I have the same problem and openend up a topic on it a while ago. My up button used to be mushy, now it won't click the first press after a while, but it will click like the rest after that. Also I've sent a support request to Garmin Netherlands, but they havent responded even after a week wondering if they are even active at all. I did get an email with my query but no response, great service Garmin!

  • It’s been about three months of using. Happily, there is no button problem yet. Apparently, this is not a ubiquitous chronic problem

  • I have the same issue and I live in Perú, how can I do this?
