Hello,
I am surprise to see I don't have Respiration Rate (and no HRV) within the activity when using BLE (more accurate than ANT+).
It state that it should work: www.garmin.com/.../770963
Am I missing something?
Forerunner 955 + HRM Pro Plus 8.90.

Yes. Read the manual - https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-8918512F-8099-433F-86CC-3E8249295E07/EN-US/HRM-Pro_QSM_EN-US.pdf

Respiratory rate is one thing and nowhere in manual Garmin says that strap will transmit it over BLE.
HRV is another thing and I never had HRV information in recorded activity, no matter over ANT+ or BLE.
Why do you think HRV is not transmitted over BLE?
No problem.
I have done few more tests.
Polar H9 BLE : Respiration rate appear in the acitvity (HRV recorded)
HRM Pro Plus BLE : No respiration rate in the acitvity (HRV not recorded)
I wonder if it's firmware issue. Probably QA doesn't bother testing BLE because ANT+ is the default. Plus ANT+ is the standard Garmin push in manuals and doc. But still I believe BLE has more Hz, allow more data points.
Oops! Have you triggered the Log HRV setting? There is a setting on the Fenix watches not sure if there is on 955. If there is it’ll be under Data Recording or thereabouts. Might make a difference.
Edit. Found this forums.garmin.com/.../hrv-recording

BLE allows faster transfer of data, but that needs more power, no problem for a phone, but for a watch, and at the data rates that come from a heartrate sensor, BLE is used with the lowest possible power usage, and over both ANT+ and BLE the same data should be transmitted. ANT+ is a bit more energy efficient. The core difference between the two is that with ANT+, multiple devices can listen to a sensor and with BLE it is mostly one, or two. I think you can best use ANT+.
That said, either Garmin should document the lack of HRV transmitting over BLE, or fix the bug.
You could open a case with Garmin Support.
