My last 5 runs gave me very strange hr-readings with a hrm-pro turned on.

Go for a run without the strap. Just use WHR.
WHR works fine.
But there seems to be an connection issue between the rhm-pro and the epix gen2.
Question is, what causes this issue? The watch with one of the latest software updates or is the hrm-pro damaged? I don´t know how to find out.
I found out something new:
When I start a running activity, I have the above-mentioned dropouts in the HR recording.
However, when I use the walkong activity everything works as expected.
I then reset the running activity to the factory settings in the hope that that would help. unfortunately in vain.
What else can I do?
