Rubbing on ribs from hrm pro

I get rubbing from my HRM pro to the point it can become quite sore. This is on the hook and loop side and i always make sure the flap is under it properly . You can see from the picture how bad this is and the scaring from past rubbage.

I can't understand why this happens as there's no sharp bits on it and it's not damaged.

Anyone else get this?

How can I stop it?

  • Hi! I had the same problem. I lowered the belt a couple of centimeters lower, and everything became OK)

  • Thanks,  I'll give it a go.

  • Hi how low can you put the strap before it stops working mine has been fin for about a year now it rubs me raw when I do a long run any help would be appreciated

  • I'd say you'd just have to experiment and see if you get a reading lower down.

Personally I sorted the problem by cutting the top off an old sock,  sliding it on to my HRM strap, putting it on then sliding it over the hook that was rubbing.

Shouldn't have to do this, I've never had problems with other HRMs, but it works

  • Thanks Paul that’s a great idea I will give it a try. I am the same my old HR was not a problem but the HR pro bad design I think

  • but the HR pro bad design I think

Sorry to hear that you have problems, BUT personally I am using the HRM Pro over one year now and had dozens of long runs - without the slightest issues.

Also the hook is quite similar to the HRM Dual, that I also own.

Not sure, what exactly might be bad design here.

  • I've been having the same problem with my HRM-PRO that i've had since release. Never had a problem with any other HRM, including two previous HRM-RUN's. It is especially odd as the loop and hook are the same as what's on the HRM-PRO as far as I can tell. Even a short 30 min jog causes issues, and it is not too tight. I've losened it to the point of almost falling down, but still it persists! I'm going to start resorting to putting a little strip of Rocktape on my skin I think, and keep rotating it with my Wahoo Tikr and Tikr X ones.

  • I have now put a bit of micropore tape on my skin now as if I do a marathon I am red raw the old connection was much better
