HRM Bricked after firmware update to 8.1

Anyone else have a bricked HRM after the latest firmware update? It failed twice even though I took off the watch to leave it next to the HRM. When I came back a bit later, watch won’t connect to HRM at all. Tried pulling battery and leaving out for a while, deleted HRM from watch and won’t find again to reconnect. Worst part is I’m just out of 1yr warranty.

I highly doubt that this is coincidental. My HRM Pro also bricked after upgrading firmware this week (mine updated to 8.80). I tried replacing the battery. After leaving the HRM without battery for sometime…

Mine was bricked on or after July 17 2022 [last date of any status with my connect app].

Has anyone recieved a solution?

did you ever get this issue resolved? seems I have the same, after 8.80 update the band seems bricked, it does connect to the watch and phone but no live heartrate, after starting and saving an activity it goes to search for stored heartrate data but nothing found

on some runs I get partial results

tried resetting it, battery out for 30 mins, reverse polarity no result

When my HRM-PRO was bricked during/after an update ≈ July 17th 2022, my HRM-Pro would not communicate with anything. I contacted GARMIN and they sent me a replacement HRM-PRO. I did order my HRM-PRO directly through GARMIN though, so I'm assuming that made things easier for me, as I contacted them through the same account with which I purchased my HRM pro.

The GARMIN Tech specialist had me try some things before I was sent a replacement HRM-PRO. Specifically, remove the battery, wait 10 minutes minimum, then install a new battery [I verified 3.06 VDC with my voltmeter], then wear the HRM-Pro with a wetted strap. When that wasn't working, they asked me if I was getting any messages from my connect app on my android device; I was getting a message effectively saying no devices are detected. Then they setup sending me the replacement. They had me fill in some basic address info on the GARMIN site for sending the replacement and sent me a follow up email indicating it would be 4-6 weeks; in reality I receive the replacement in ≈ 2 weeks, which was really nice to get that for my workouts again.

Also contacted support and they will send me a replacement, so weird, before 8.80 I had no issues at all

When the new strap arrived did it come with 8.80?

got new HRM-Pro, came with firmware 8.10, I'm not upgrading it :) works perfectly

Mine came with 8.10. I may wait to update after the 8.80.
