HRM-PRO Autocalibration

I updated the HRM and there is an option for distances and tempos. I'm happy to change my old Food sensor. But.

I want to switch the distance and pace to the "always" option, but the "autocalibration" option turns off

How to set the distance and pace manually

In food under was the rate, and what to do in HRM-PRO?

I do not understand this Garmin.

This is a different device and process than you will have got used to with your foot pod. That requires a change in thinking. The sensor does not require a calibration factor.

What is so hard to understand about it?

If you leave everything set to default, your HRM Pro will take data from your outdoor running activities (so having movement information by itself and getting GPS…

Are you sure it is strap not a GPS fault?
Many people reports last days issues with GPS on their watches.
For me it works fine, I have settings for my HRM-Pro set to „Indoors” and autocalibration enabled.
Did three runs this week and pace and distance looks fine, but as I mention earlier, have no clue how to be sure which data my Fenix is using during workout.

Tried 2 maners, only indoor and did a run with gps off and it gave me bad pace data... and tried yesterday with pace indoor and distance always and the bad data came the same...

Turned both to indoor yesterday after de pace came off, and the pace (gps) came normal again... its the calibration that isn´t right...

It needs to collect data for autocalibration first. You need to run few times with everything set to indoors first. Then you can switch to getting data from the sensor.

For indoor activity, you have to use activity „treadmill”, run at least 1,5km and after finishing the run calibrate distance on watch if distance from watch and treadmill deffers.
It is described in strap manual.

It looks exactly like you described.
I made this mistake and set strap settings to always on pace and go for run, it showed me crazy pace (faster 1 minute per km, than really pace).
Now I set everything to indoor with autocalibration enabled, and do my runs with GPS.
Still don’t know how could recognise when data will be collected from watch and when from the strap.

It would be a pity if autocalibration does not work properly and wrong pace\distance coming from HRM. I am still in process of autocalibration. Was going to switch pace to always next Monday.

This really seems like an accidental oversight by Garmin. Why would the HRM not be able to continuously autocalibrate while sharing pace with the watch? It is also able to do so with e.g., Stryd footpods.
