Tacx Neo Bike knocking noise

Hello… my one week old Neo Bike has a knocking noise from the first time I used it….is this normal ?

hopefully I’ve attached  a link

  • Realize it's been a while since this post, but I am just finding it and unable to view the video. What specifically did you do with the hub assembly to correct the issue? And do you think modifying the belt cover alone would have solved the problem?

    Thank you!

  • I am on my fourth bike in four years (each one being replaced, without quibble by garmin) but now my present bike has developed a subtle knocking noise from around the bottom bracket area. This time, still helpful, garmin said they would replace the main body once again, but this time it is out of warranty and would cost, just under, £600.

After further inspection (I removed the belt guard and back pedalled, lightly, by hand) there is no sound from the electr-magnetic bit, it is definitely emminating from the bb, or something nearby.

Has anyone stripped down to expose the bb spindle and bearing? It seems ludicrous to replace the whole thing again, when it could require only new bearings, or at worst, a full new bb assembly.

If it is any assistance in analysing the issue, when rotating the pedals, the knocking is two or three 'knocks' per full revolution, and not in constant positions.

    Cheers

  • Mine bangs at the start of sprints now, it just started a week ago. I have all covers removed so it’s not that, it sounds internal. It also clicks each pedal revolution. I changed pedals and cleats hoping it was that, but no.

That’s interesting you got it replaced 3 times. Mine should have been replaced, I stripped the spline twice as the 2 bolts and end cap aren’t enough. So I ended up going down Home Depot getting a long 1/2” bolt that now holds it all together.Thats been better for the past year, but very messy

parts of this bike are built like a tank but the bottom bracket area seems so weak. I’m 88kg putting 1700w through it, so not extreme.
