Any plans to support Zwift Virtual shifting on Neo2T ????

Hello Garmin,

To begin, I have already submitted my "Idea" to Garmin about adding this support, but like many other customers...i've been ignored and no response nor announement has been published as of today. Hence, I am requesting you to please answer if you are going to add support for Virtual Shifting ? I am Neo2T and Neo3 M user and even with the best trainers I can't use virtual shifting and can't use zwift cog either (to avoid wear to my drivetrain and even purchase a zwift bike dedicated for training). Please reply, like me...many of us are waiting for this feature.

Thanks.

  • agree, why buy Tacx if you do not have support from them????

  • Garmin is not perfect.  In fact, I believe their trainers are way over priced to compete.  The Flux S used to be less than the Core.  They need to drop it to $499.95,  the Neo2t with motion plates needs to be $899.99, and the Neo 3M should be competitive with the Move by dropping it to $1,399.99 or cheaper.  However, competitive and joining everyone else doesn't mean going out of business.  Remember, 4iiii is out of the trainer business, Saris is hanging by a thread, Kinetic is all but gone from the market with no smart trainers, Wahoo and Jetblack are completely dependent on contracts with Zwift.  Be careful what you ask for from Garmin or we won't have any options in a year or two, we'll all be on crappy Chinese trainers with no support.

  • Especially if it removes nothing for you. You still can use your mecanical shifting on any other app.

And wahoo,  jetblack, elite, van rysel users who got their turbo with a zwift cog can buy a cassette and use it with any other app as well.

It's about choice and possibility to open a whole range of possibility.

I really don't get how providing more choice will limit the choice.

I ended up using mywhoosh 100% of the time and tried the virtual shifting. I prefer mecanical. But i like having the choice

  • Thanks all for your participation and feedback.

There are several threads on this topic and I am closing this and other newer threads so that the discussion and any updates Garmin can provide will be in one location.

I do not wish to discourage your feedback, but I would request that it is shared here: 9-4-24 "Neo2T Zwift virtual shifting software support required"

  • We are excited to share that firmware updates supporting virtual shifting in Zwift are now available.

By using a Tacx NEO 2T or 3M paired with Zwift Cog and Click, cyclists can enjoy smooth, silent virtual shifting while training, racing or riding on Zwift. This update also adds Race Mode for faster response in Zwift, and when using the Tacx Training App riders can track their trainer mileage with the virtual odometer.
To install the latest firmware on your trainer, use the Tacx Training mobile app.

See our announcement here: Garmin and Zwift announce expanded integration for Tacx NEO 2T and 3

Note: This software feature update is also available for the Tacx NEO 2; however, older NEO 2 trainers may not be compatible to mount Zwift's Ride Smart Frame.
