Vivoactive 4 battery drain after update to 5.80

The green sensor(HR sensor i think) glows continuously.The battery lasts only two to three days if there is no activity like running or walking...

I believe this is a minor bug in the code that can be corrected quickly. Garmin developers please check this and fix it :)

I use stock face, I have nothing installed other than as supplied, don't use it for music etc etc & still have increased drain so it isn't only a third party issue.

Garmin-AmberD I have pinned down the feature that drains battery on my VA4s 5.80. The backlight setting drains unnecessarily.

When I have the entire Backlight setting completely disabled, the battery lasts…

I have the same issue with my replacement. Garmin have said “don’t use a third party face” - well, it worked like a dream before 5.80, so I don’t want to settle with that.

I use the SHN TxD face. It has to be an issue with the “high power mode”.

Ah well that’s good to know. As in, hopefully as it seems like something they introduced with 5.80, it’s something they can fix.

I wouldn't hold your breath... I'm certainly not ! You just have to look through the rest of the forums to know this isn't a unique situation.

The issue remains. It didn't drain as much overnight, but using the third party watch face (SHN TxD) I can tell that it's stuck in "high power" mode - because I can see it's updating my heart rate number every second. Normally it would be every minute.

As an update - this is still happening. 50% drain overnight.

I feel like when it seems to be working again, it's because I've done something to get it back into "low power mode". But then tapping the screen by accident while sleeping or during the day will put it back in "high power mode" which it won't come out of, and so it drains.

I'm about ready to throw the watch under a car. This is the replacement too. It's a software fault, not hardware.
