battery life issue

Got my V4 3-4 months ago. No issues. Through the summer used it daily, almost 24/7. Besides daily exercise, I was monitoring my sleep patterns. Five or more days before charge.

A week or two ago there was an upgrade. Seems that since then, battery lasts less than 24hrs. So, really recent issue.

I've seen a lot of info from a year ago. This seems new.

Help please.

  • You are absolutely not pushing too much. I completely understand the frustration. The battery drain is coming from the CIQ watch faces. We do need you to reach out to the developers regarding this CIQ apps. I recommend choosing CIQ Apps from the Garmin developers, that way if there were any issues with it, we could create a case to get it resolved. I appreciate the patience you have given us. As for an update, we still do not have an update out for the vivoactive 4 pertaining to the battery. 

    If the device is having a battery drain without the CIQ, we would need to look further into what is going on.

    Is anyone using a CIQ face that is NOT having an issue with battery drain after the 5.1.0 Update? If so please post what developer / face it is so that when we contact the many developers of faces that are ARE having an issue we have someone we can point them to for advice on why theirs are not having the issue.

  • I got the battery drain issue using a Garmin watchface, the Home-Fit Thrill.

  • I have no problem with battery drain with my private CIQ watchface. But this watchface is hard optimized for performance and coded only for my personal usage (no settings) and only for VA4/VA4s. Long term battery usage 0.422%/hour (VA4), pulseox off, notification on, 10%backlight without gesture, about 2hour GPS activity per week, no music

    Isn't this pretty much the same you communicated couple of weeks ago? Which was then followed by a literal "we are working on a resolution and the case regarding the battery drain has been escalated" after users started to really complain about it?

    I cannot understand why we should report this to CIQ face developers when multiple users have already mentioned that the battery drain issues with CIQ faces are fixed when downgrading to the version before 5.10.

    Anyway, I feel I am wasting my time and nothing will move forward if the problem introduced in SW 5.10 is not even acknowledged.

    In the meantime I guess it's either using a stock face or having a charger nearby.

    This is indeed the same advice as before. How do these Bug Reports work? Can we create one for the watch itself in addition to Connect IQ?

  • My Wife's VivioActive 4S is experiencing Battery Drain after the 5.1 and 5.3 updates. Used to last 4-5 days. After the update less then a day. No CIQ watch faces or apps installed at all.
