vivoactive 4/4s SW 4.00 is now live

This update can be downloaded with Garmin Express or automatically with Garmin Connect Mobile. 

Change Log v.4.00:

  • Fixed a possible battery drain with Bluetooth
  • Enabled heart rate during swim activities
  • Added speed fields to standup paddle boarding activity
  • Improved calendar user interface
  • Improved weather forecast timezone handling
  • Added vertical speed fields to run and bike activities
  • Fixed an issue with GPS turning on for all Connect IQ apps
  • Fixed a possible crash with WiFi
  • Fixed an issue with treadmill calibration not working
  • Fixed an issue with incoming call notifications not dismissing
  • Improved the number picker user experience
  • Increased the amount of data shown in Body Battery and Stress widgets
  • Added support for abnormal low heart rate alerts
  • Added heart rate graph to activity summary

    I do have one suggestion to try. For my smartphone I calibrate the battery on regular base (once per month). The same I do for the VA4.

    This is how I do this:

    • Use the watch till it’s switched of by itself. Now you know the battery is fully discharged.
    • Charge the watch and leave it connected to the charger for at least one hour after the watch show 100 %

    Now the watch knows the minimum and maximum level of the battery.

    I my case this extended the batterylife from nearly 4 days to almost 6 days.

    Hope this is method can also extend your batterylife.

    Did you try connecting your device via USB cable and syncing with Garmin Express?

    I’m having a similar issue with my Vivoactive 4s... tried all of the above as well. There is weather displayed on mine but it is never correct! Says it’s 10 degrees when it’s 30 etc.

    Not liking the new notification style.. you can’t tap on the notification to view it and you can’t press the back button to clear it from your screen. It just stays there for too long taking over the top third of the watch face. Happy for it to not take up the whole screen but would like to be able to enter the notification to read it or clear it to read later as necessary.

    Another issue I’m having is everynow and then (a couple of times a day) I will get notifications for every email in my inbox that is unread, even if I’ve already received a notification about it before when the email came through. So it will buzz about 20 times in a row with emails etc that I am already aware of (could be from days ago). And with the new notification style I can’t even press the back button and clear through them quickly I have to wait for them all to buzz through individually, take their time to clear off the screen and then the next one comes. It’s very distracting! I keep the app open all of the time as I thought this would help but it doesn’t seem to.

    Did download with garmin express to get to 4.0 version as battery would not charge at all . Now I amnot getting text and phone notifications on my phone . I have all notifications to watch turned in. Nd u have tried to sync. What do I do

    Is this update region-specific? I haven't been able to update mine...
