Anyone else having battery drain after the latest 9.24 update?

I purchased my Venu 3s about a month ago and have been very happy with it until the 9.24 update. My battery life was 18-20% per day consistently with all features turned on. After the 9.24 update it's been 33-35% per day. I unplugged it from the charger this morning at 5:00 am and didn't put it on or do anything with it. Checked it at 9:00 am and it had dropped 9% with no use.

My normal use is usually from 5:30 am to 9:30 pm so I was seeing a little over 1% per hour and I was expected to get a full 5 days out of it. I've owned many Garmin watches and never had a problem like this. Anyone else seeing this issue after updating to 9.24? I fully feel like this is software issue since it was fine before the update.

Anyone have any suggestions to fix it if you found a solution?

I just tried l, hope it works, thank you, I don't know if it's worth it to update again, with a venu 2s update the floor climbing and barometer was completely messed up and no update or factory reset fixed the problem, I hope it works and I can keep enjoy my watch as usual

Ok, so update on this issue. I used my GPS last night and it started doing it again even after a full charge. My watch used 54% today so far.

Garmin, you have to fix this issue. It's clearly something with the GPS software from the last update. We can't keep going through these steps every time we use GPS.

Hello. The fix works. After 17 hours, battery is 95%.

After the update, battery drained 56% in 24 hours and that was pretty frustrating.

Update : battery draining reappeared.. :/

Battery is now 40% after 42 hours since full charge, without using GPS, and running F3b Training + once...

I received my Garmin Venu3 as a Christmas gift which once set up I got 10 days out of it and since the update I'm now having to charge it every 4 days.

I was wondering if I reset it, would it return the battery to original life?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'd got the same issue on the Venu2 watch - high battery drain after forced to update the watch firmware (it's not possible to disable automatic updates on the Venu series).

The only solution was to perform full watch reset - it solved the problem till the next (forced) firmware update.
So I performed full reset every time a firmware was forcefully updated to prevent the issue (and yes, I had to set up the watch from scratch, incl. cards stored in the wallet...)

Procedure I used for Venu2: Venu2 hard reset using buttons

Maybe it's the same procedure working on Venu3 too (I don't face this issue on Venu3 - don't know if it's working or not)

The result is probably the same as full resetting the watch via its interface....

So if the "button reset" doesn't work on Venu3, try:
Settings > System > Reset > Delete Data and Reset Settings

Please let me know if the "button reset" method is working on Venu3 if you try it, thanks.

Hi there

Thanks for getting back to me, I truly appreciate it.

I did do a total reset on my venu 3 today so I'll let you know how it goes in regards to the battery life.

Fingers crossed that the battery life is better and if that happens I will be happy.

However, it will be a tad annoying if I have to do a total reset after each update

The "button reset" method is also working on Venu 3s.

But one time installed beta version will not be downgraded to last official version.

I think there's a method how to leave a beta program and downgrade to the last "stable" firmware release...
