Had the venu 3s since release day 1 and no issues. However since the 8.25 software update I've had it crash on me twice. Watch becomes unresponsive for a while and its difficult to restart. Is this likely to be a software issue or hardware?

Support told me to revoke the location permission of the garmin connect app, the issue is tied to that they claimed, and after doing this I've not had any crashes in about a week. Looking promising!…
Mine has stopped reading HR accurately. After 30 on elliptical it will only read my HR at 98. I've only had it 10 weeks. Pretty upset bc I had read that Garmin was so reliable and I switched from Fitbit…
I have opened a case this morning, but no response yet. Watch is freezing daily now and HRM sensor stops working. It is unusable at this stage.
I don't use my watch with a phone at all... the same issues for me, had nothing to do with blue-tooth or wifi or phone etc...
I'm on VIVOACTIVE 5; I had the exact same issues > this is what worked for the moment...
There are serious issues with the screen activating too easy or staying awake/ON for too damn long... (EVEN RANDOMLY WHEN NOT EVEN USING THE WATCH AT ALL); It activates even when touching clothing, sometimes...
With all of these, I still had freezes, reboots, and unresponsive watch but only while changing default watch-faces... but recovers much faster... I figured out these by my self, support wasn't that helpful, they are just "INVESTIGATING" ~ weird...
You could replace your watch 100x more times... these are firmware/software updates that need to be fixed someday maybe...
Hope this temporary fix will work for you, and make your experience a little bit better...
Venu3 is not suitable for daily use after updating to version 8.25.
Always on dispaly does not work properly, i.e. after sleep mode it stops working, or only activates when you turn your hand. Even though Gesture mode is switched off.
The screen can hang up and become unresponsive after a couple of hours or so. It looks as if the watch has hung up but the watch continues to work. This can be recognised by the presence of a functioning blood pressure sensor.
The hanging up of the watch will only take place when the watch is connected to the phone.
Fixed navigation, which existed in version 7.07, is no longer available in version 8.25. This may be one of the reasons why the watch is not working properly.
The Venu 3 disconnects from the phone immediately after exiting the Garmin Connect app. It then reconnects after a few minutes.
If this is the case, version 7.07 should be available, which was a good release until the problems with version 8.25 were fixed.
The technical support is completely useless. They ask the same questions over and over. They delete previous correspondence. It is generally a waste of time to contact them.
Did you get any answer from Garmin ?
When I contacted support they kept asking me the same question about the watch crashing up. I wrote back and they closed the ticket. So I wrote again and got the same questions. I finally gave up because it took about two weeks and nothing came of it. I'm now considering returning the watch as they haven't even offered to exchange it for a new one that's faultless.
I have a similar problem. When the screen turns off for standby (I set the sleep mode or turn off the screen "always ON", or connect it to the charger, the screen turns black and it is impossible to turn it on in any way. The Venu 3 is access works all (sensors, buttons and inputs on the screen are working) but the screen remains black. Support suggested waiting for an update.
For me the battery was draining super fast 18/20h and even the watch was showing similar battery life, also when I was trying to check the software update, after a few seconds of the Garmin animation the checking was just closing.
Yestrady I factory rest the watch and for now it’s working fine.
It’s still an issue, it’s better after I raised a support ticket but it still happens that the HR sensor stops working. Sadly Garmin doesn’t show much care as there hasn’t been released any new software to fix their bugs. Too expensive and frankly, this careless behaviour is dodgy.
I expected more from Garmin.
Well... my watch crashed several times today and the battery went from 70% to 20%.
My fear is whether the Watch will still work as it should later (battery life).
I think that it is certainly not good for the watch if it keeps crashing and having to be restarted.
All,
If I have not reached out to you via email yet, please reach out to your local Garmin Support team to get you added to the open ticket. They will need to gather some additional information to do so.
Mine too is always crashing since update, day 3 of having it (last week). Always disconnecting from phone. Not able to connect it back except when some magic happens (doing the same thing again and again with error message but somehow sometimes its working)... For a few hours before it disconnects again. Now watch becomes unresponsive for few minutes, impossible to turn it off to restart.
Have to say I did every step of every solution/trouble shooting on garmin website. Unsuccessfully.
Seems like its been going on for a few months for Garmin users. Whats up??
