Venu 3s UI keeps crashing since 8.25 update

Had the venu 3s since release day 1 and no issues. However since the 8.25 software update I've had it crash on me twice. Watch becomes unresponsive for a while and its difficult to restart. Is this likely to be a software issue or hardware?

  • Same problem here. Venu 3 UI freezes twice a day around morning and evening time. Turning bluetooth off on the phone immediately wakes the watch up. Also have rare occasions when HR/stress/body battery won't show up in Connect app while all the data is visible on the watch

Is there a fix coming? Should we wait for next software update or just return the watch?

    Wow, this is crazy...

I do have the little brother of Venu 3, the Vivoactive 5, which is also on firmware / software 8.25

I can confirm that : I get a lot of random restarts browsing the UI, black screen, freezing > unresponsive screen/watch, UI bricked changing watch-faces, issues with the gesture on / auto-lock on >>>> among many many many other software issues... all of these with a watch used as a watch no apps or other watch-faces, no activity or GPS, no bluetooth on or WIFI... JUST A WATCH !!!

I just had the watch for 7-8 days already... and it's the most bad / frustrating experience I ever had with any product I've owned, among 3 other garmins. I discover daily new issues with the software... It's beyond my imagination how Garmin can release such watches and software...

We all paid premium to be beta testers for Garmin software... hopefully they don't need 2-3 months to solve all these problems...

AT THE MOMENT I DO HAVE ON MY WRIST A VERY EXPENSIVE PIECE OF PLASTIC...

WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT GARMIN IS CAPABLE OF THIS ?

Anyone can check my posts regarding, which seems an endless stream of issues regarding VENU 3 + VIVOACTIVE 5 fw/software

  • I have none of the issues that you are claiming to have (having Venu 3 for more than a month). You need to contact Garmin directly and address your issues, that is the best way.

I did that, they are not really responding, or helpful at all... unfortunately...

Please stop replying on my posts as I'm not the only one with these issues...

Can you COUNT ??? also go to reddit and count, it's not an isolated case or 2...

Glad you don't have any issues, it's hard to understand how annoying this is it...

People don't just post here because they have free time on their hands...

EXPENSIVE PIECE OF PLASTIC NEEDS FIRMWARE UPDATE ASAP!

  • I can definitely count, thanks for that. I am on Reddit and I have not seen this post (not as common as you are making it). And all I can say is to Contact Garmin again, nothing else might help. Not your large font of writing in red text, nor your bold text. You might get irritated and that is understandable, but just because you write in bold text, doesn't guarantee a firmware update asap, especially with the holidays nearing.

Friendly guy with no firmware issues, I was you 8 days ago... Also had 3 garmin watches with no issues... I just post things as I experience them... email support is not there, nobody replies... I do what I can... I can't return the watch, and no funds for a new one... I'm just reporting, not expecting anything... probably 99% of the issues are not even reported here or anywhere... I do have a Vivoactive 5, which seems to have same issues as the more expensive VENU 3. SAD! Both have more or less 99% same software as it seems...

This is a forum for reporting BUGS, not posting "HOW MUCH I LOVE MY PROBLEM FREE GARMIN WATCH"

Keep in mind that nobody would come here to "CLAIM" having issues with their watch... that would be a weird hobby...

Stop educating people online, and go push some buttons on your perfect garmin watch, and enjoy it while you can, you might be next :)

  • I am certain, of how to contact Garmin if I experience such issues. I might post my issues here and on Reddit to see if anyone has solutions, if they don't, my next step would be to contact Garmin. They have call and chat support, which I have used in the past and the response is pretty good in my case. If that is unsatisfactory, I would go to the nearest authorized center, which I did to replace my old Garmin battery. I don't know which country you are located in, and not sure if options vary by country.

This is a forum to support individuals having Garmin watches and if you want to post bugs regarding Beta software, there is a separate forum for it, and this is not the place. And if you don't want people to reply to your post, you might as well stop posting your issues here. I don't educate people, I have a job that consumes most of my time and energy, but I try to help people and if the person is unwilling to accept the help, then there is little I can do.

And yes, I have been pushing a lot more buttons on my watch. Had a perfect 1 hr run recently, thank you Slight smile

Happy user, nobody is using beta here... and in case you didn't figure it out > > > this is a place to get the sentiment of the situation... Nobody posts here how their watch and software smoothly runs and everything is COOL... The whole forum is for posting bugs/issues... hardware x software...

Imagine you just came here like a healthy dude enters a hospital full of sick people, and you are telling everyone that you are healthy and have no issues at all...

    1. nobody cares

    2. doesn't improve anyone situation...

    3. nobody knows why they sick or healthy + you are lucky to be...

  • I would say the same to you. You need to tell your issues to the doctors and not the patients visiting the hospitals. We are more like volunteer care at the hospitals, and all we can do is listen and suggest any remedies if they are known to work. But if nothing works, you need to go to the doctor again. You telling here is like telling other sick people I have problems too. If your doctor isn't good, then go to another doctor (Garmin chat or call with another chat representative).

  • The problem had to do with bluetooth connection so something about the phone or Connect app rather than watch directly. What seemed to have helped was just phone restart. Few days without freezes now. Hope it stays this way.
