Venu 2S Crashing Randomly After Firmware 19.05 Update

Hi,

I’ve been using my Venu 2S for the past four years without any issues, but ever since the recent firmware update (version 19.05), the watch has been crashing randomly and frequently. This has been happening for several months now.

I’ve noticed that the crashes usually occur about 1–2 hours after a workout (typically Pilates), but they can also happen at completely random times—even when the watch is idle. The battery is not the issue, as the watch only powers back on after I connect it to the charger, and when it does, it shows over 70% battery remaining.

This issue is extremely frustrating and is affecting my trust in the product. Is there any way to revert to the previous firmware version? I’m genuinely at a loss here—it’s come to the point where I feel like throwing the watch out the window.

Looking forward to your assistance.

  • I have the same issue with my Venu 2. Today I was wearing it and it turned itself off even though the battery level was about 80%. I turned it back on only to see the empty battery symbol which was quickly replaced by the blue triangle and the battery indicator showed 79% once it had started running again.

I've also noticed that sometimes the battery seems to drain much quicker than usual, even when it is not being used to record an activity.

Is there a new software update in the pipeline?

  • This morning my watch turned itself off three times in the course of a 20 minute walk so I decided to do a factory reset. I tried another 20 minute walk this afternoon and it was OK. I'll try and do the same for the coming week and report back. So far I've left the watch in the factory state, no changed face on the watch or any apps. If it works OK for the rest of the week I'll change some settings and see if it makes a difference.
