The raise to wake feature works well. What makes it seem like it takes an excessive amount of time is the fade in.
Is it possible to add a choice so it can either fade in/out or just do on/off?

I'm a bit surprised by the official pessimistic response from Garmin on this. The development work required for this feature is trivial (a menu option and an if block) but it has a significant usability…
I think so....mine seems slower on the new update!
It's a shame Garmin won't remove the fade in, even as an option.
It's a relatively simple change...so making the change shouldn't be an issue…
Update: Just decided to return my watch, partially because of this and partially because of issues with bluetooth/syncing. Unfortunate.
Yea. I've had my Venu 2 for about an hour and I already despise the fade in on glance. It's an absurd thing to have added. You'd have to be crazy to think this is a good idea. Seems to be just over 300ms to display and another 700 to make it to fill brightness. Madness.
I tried the latest beta that I could find as well.
To boot I can't seem to sync any watchfaces etc from Garmin iq. Whole thing seems distinctly amateur
It’s long time ago that we discussed this and I am using always on meanwhile, so I don’t remember timing in detail. But from what I just saw when diasabling always on, full brightness seem to be there immediately after wake-up (stock watchface)
Definitely gone. Almost as fast as Epix 2. No fade in anymore!!!!
