Venu 2 +

Nice review from DC Rainmaker at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hq4zr8oSlU0

Smaller case, same size screen. And having a speaker / mic is a big plus in my mind - that is really the only thing I miss from my former Samsung watch.

Looks like we will all be getting clickable complications, love that.

Lastly his accuracy measurements are interesting to watch.

  • One of my complaints about my Venu 2 -- which I returned to REI about an hour ago -- was that it was just a bit too big for me, while the 2S was way too small. So this would be ideal as a size and is similar to my current FR645. But I'll wait for the price to drop; I paid $299 for the V2 and the V2+ is not worth $150 more to me.

  • Sounds as if you're saying nothing works properly. While there are things that aren't great, most seem pretty good. I don't know how you'd assess the stress measurement and call it bad or good.

  • SInce it's Venu2+ thread, look at mine Venu2 thread, I didn't wrote that nothing works. But in my opinion perfecting software (Firmware) and mastering it, making bugs free would be greater plus than adding a mic and speaker to a watch.

  • I received my Venu 2+ today.  I already own a Venu 2,  so I am familiar with the watch.  Unfortunately, I am experiencing a problem with the new watch.  Auto brightness will not disable. That is to say, I can toggle the setting to turn off auto brightness and it registers, however, it continues to adjust the brightness of the screen based upon surrounding light. I'm looking at it side by side with my existing Venu 2  and I have the new Venu 2+  settings are identical to those on my Venu 2, but screen brightness is completely different because it is adjusting based on ambient light. Very frustrating. I'm not sure if it's a software bug or a hardware bug, but I will have to return in the new watch soon if I can't resolve this. Any other new owners of the new Venu 2+  experiencing this?

  • I won't have my 2 Plus until Friday but I think my Venu 2 still adjust ls the screen even without auto-brightness on. I'm not really sure though since I always use auto.

  • Does it tell you that auto brightness is off when you tap on the A to turn it off?

  • It does display the notification that auto brightness is off when I tap the A, but the behavior (adjusting to ambient) does not change. And again, I'm doing nothing differently vs my Venu 2. Side by side, same settings, but only the 2+ is having the issue

  • I never use auto on my Venu 2 and I always keep brightness at 100%, except when I am in a movie theater. It's very bright. The same settings are not yielding the same result in the 2+

  • Could you elaborate on the latency when the screen turns on? It has been one of my main gripes with the Venu, it' takes just that bit too long to turn on the screen when you wake up the watch. Has this improved?
