Venu 2 +

Nice review from DC Rainmaker at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hq4zr8oSlU0

Smaller case, same size screen. And having a speaker / mic is a big plus in my mind - that is really the only thing I miss from my former Samsung watch.

Looks like we will all be getting clickable complications, love that.

Lastly his accuracy measurements are interesting to watch.

  • I'm a sucker and will get this as soon as I can get my hands on one. Yum

  • Uhh yeah! Time to Mercari my almost brand new Venu 2 Slight smile

  • Thanks.  I like the clickable complications also.  I don’t think I’d want the speaker on the watch, as it is I usually have my phone silenced so I like the vibration alerts better but I’ve never had a watch with one so I guess I don’t know what I’m missing.

  • I would be interested how mic. and speaker will be after my daily swimming ???

  • My biggest concern is, how will be mic and speaker acting after my daily swimming?

  • I am not sure how Garmin implemented it but on my prior Samsung watch you could mute it and/or just have vibrations but still use it for either phone calls or for replying with voice to texts. The voice reply to texts was something I did use fairly frequently. And being able to answer calls was handy if I got a call while driving my wife's car where my phone was not connected to bluetooth. Overall I really liked it.

  • A welcome upgrade. But for the price, I think it comes up short.

The Venu2+ is aimed squarely at Apple and Samsung watches. It has much better battery life, apparently. And the phone connection is welcome. But it lacks the range of apps that provide greater versatility, and Garmin Pay is virtually unusable in Canada. I could overlook that, and lack of ECG, if it had the maps available in the Fenix series. Without those, I can't see it winning in a head-to-head comparison with the other two brands mentioned above.

  • The real + for Garmin in my opinion would be firmware fix for Venu 2, to show correct results of PulseOX, Stress, sleep tracking, floors, perfectly track fitness/run/walking. It would be real big PLUS

For me big screen is a great feature of Venu 2.

  • The screen on the V2+ is the same as on the large Venu 2 -- just a smaller casing.

  • The real + for Garmin in my opinion would be firmware fix for Venu 2, to show correct results of PulseOX, Stress, sleep tracking, floors, perfectly track fitness/run/walking.

If you watch the review you will see that these are already pretty good.
