Lily cannot use iPhone GPS anymore

Recently, my girlfriends Garmin Lily stopped being able to use the gps from her iPhone, making it partially useless to her since this was why she bought the watch in the first place.

I’m not sure when it exactly happened. The lily still connects to the iPhone and is able to sync via the Garmin connect app. When you start an activity the Lilly gives you the message to start the connect app to initiate the connection for the gps. Here is where it goes different. After opening the GCA nothing happens. No connection is made and the Lily asks to check the location settings on the phone. I’ve checked all of this and the Garmin connect app is allowed to access the location information always.

the lily keeps timing out on connection with the Garmin app.
depleting the battery from the lily, repairing it with her iPhone or even connecting it to another iPhone does not work. The only thing which comes to mind is that it has something to do with the latest iOS updates, but I can’t pinpoint that.

  • Any news? Just got mine yesterday and cant connect to Iphone GPS. It connects to android, but not to Iphone… so frustrating.

  • I simply returned the product. Didn't want to have such a problem even if now they would fix it, it is a bug that can come with every system update. It is a very bothering problem...

  • Garmin came up with a different solution where my girlfriend could select a different watch altogether. Not sure when the software update will be released, but the updates until now did not work.

Hi, I just managed to get the shop refund me the full amount of the purchase. But it has been a completely unacceptable process for 6 months, where Garmin Support has kept me with promises of upcoming firmware update, etc. Unsatisfactory that Garmin will not admit its obvious flaws with their product, even though it may be mostly due to Apple (iPhone) , then it's Garmin who should take responsibility.

  • Are you willing to divulge the process you went through to get the refund. My Lily is doing the same thing.

Thanks for any help you can send my way.

  • I am having the exact same problems with the Lily. The GPS is not connecting to the phone app. I followed the same steps you mentioned here and no success at all. All my software is up to date. I’m thinking of returning this watch. Can you please advise?
