First Night, No Body Battery

My Index Sleep Monitor arrived yesterday and I got it all set up. At bedtime, I put on the Index Sleep and placed my fenix 6X Sapphire on the charger. This morning I woke up and went to take a look in Garmin Connect and saw I didn’t get any body battery metrics. The timeline actually shows that I was active all night. Everything else (sleep, pulse ox, heart rate) seems to have registered properly.

Is there a bug somewhere, or did I do something wrong?

It looks like I’m still running 3.26, I haven’t been prompted for any updates.

  • I am also having the same issue. Although I have a Fenix 7 Pro.

  • I'm having this issue too with the Index sleep band and the Instinct 2 Solar. I'm available to communicate if the company needs more info.

  • This is exactly how mine behaves: I switched off my watch last night to test it, and live HR started coming from the sleep monitor for the first time. But still no body battery reading, even after syncing this morning.

  • After hearing that perhaps the watch (in my case Fenix 6 Pro) Body Battery data may be "overwriting" the Index Sleep data, I tried to turn my Fenix off overnight, sync my Index Sleep in the morning and check if it shows anything.  It doesn't -- Body Battery history is simply missing from Index Sleep alone.  Oddly, when I power and put on my Fenix, the Body Battery value appears ... but without history, which makes it very suspect.  Garmin, please fix this -- it's literally a primary selling point for the device.

  • Hi all! Add me to the mix.  Body Battery on my new sleep index monitor was the only thing that didn’t populate when I wore it alone without my vivoactive 4s. Which is the main reason why I purchased the sleep monitor. Don’t like wearing the watch while I sleep. I read that it isn’t necessary to make the sleep monitor the primary (in Garmin Connect) while sleeping? Just used 1 night thus far by itself.  You have permission to contact me. Thx.

  • Thank you all for your participation in this thread, we will have a solution in an upcoming software release. There is not currently a timeline on that release, however I will update this thread as information becomes available.

  • I have exactly the same issue using the Index Sleep Monitor along with the Vívosmart 5. The whole point of the Index Sleep Monitor should be to complement a Garmin watch, so that you don't have to wear it during sleep. But with this issue, it more or less seems that the watch and the Sleep Monitor interfere with each other (with one overriding the other), making it kind of useless. I really hope that Garmin will fix this soon with a firmware update, so that both devices can be used as intended.

  • @garin-tracy thanks for this reply, but it would be good to know which software ? Garmin Connect, Watch Firmware, Sleep Index Firmware ?

  • Update. Took my watch off at 10:00 pm and slipped the sleep index band on for bedtime and the connect app doesn’t even recognize it now. I spent an hour troubleshooting everything that was suggested in connect and still nothing. I removed the device and tried to re-pair, Bluetooth on and off, removed it from Bluetooth, restarted my iPhone, restarted connect app. And yes, it is charged.
