Got a X after reading from second user. Wifi sync does not work

I just received my BPM in Germany. Installation, wifi connection and connection to my Connect account worked fine.

 Reading sync with account just fine.

 Invited second user and accepted user invite in her account in the app

Reading - with bpm set to her Nick worked fine, but ended with X.

Software is 1.06

 Bluetooth connection to second device/account failed but that’s a feature to my understanding?

Is software 1.07 available in Germany?

 Do I really need to reset the device for update?

  • was anybody - in EUROPE - able to update the software to 1.07?

  • Germany, since 2 Weeks no Chance. Tryed it 8 times, also together with the Support. No Update 

  • I waited more than in week, nothing happened.

     Support told me, they passed it to development, no deadline…

  • I am from Austria, received my Index BPM today with Software v1.06 and I have similar issues.
    Sync for secondary user is not working under any conditions.
    If I deactivate bluetooth on my smartphone then even the sync for the main user is not working anymore.

    Tried several resets of device and using different Garmin accounts as main account.
    Also tried with different wifi networks.
    Check of wifi connection in device settings always tells that the connection is fine and I see successful dns requests on my nameserver for clock.garmin.com, gold.garmin.com, connectapi.garmin.com, omt.garmin.com and services.garmin.com coming from the Index BPM.

    Also tried the method to reset with removing the batteries to force firmware update, but Connect still says that my v1.06 is the most current software version.

    Wrote now a mail to support, lets see when I get an answer and what they reply.

  • It seems that everyone has the same problem. And the firmware cannot be updated, the firmware that possibly could fix the problem?

    Garmin still publishes a solution on the website that does not work, strange! The update does not work.

    Talking to Garmin support, they say that this is an know error and they are working on it. Surprisingly they required me to send in pictures and system information, OS, errors etc even though the problem is known. Garmin processes are ont really logical.

    Garmin should remove the suggested solution on the website (that does not work) and inform about the status of the error instead. This information only keeps people confused.

    I believe many of us vill start sending the units back if there is no solution soon.

  • My Cellphone is an Apple. Does Android-Phones have the same Problem? 

  • The mobile device is not involves at all in the update process.

  • You cant connect the BPM the first time directly to a Wifinetwork without an other device. The first Connect is the Connect-App on a Phone.

    So your device is Android?!

  • The problem is that the update does not work. The mobile phone is not involved in the update process. 
    The phone (i use iPhone) is used setting up the connection, yes. But thats not the problem.
    If you have problem initiating your Index BPM from your Android (set up NW), then thats another problem.

    My phone is an Android and I have the similar issues as I described above.
    No sync via Wifi, only with bluetooth and sync for non primary account not working under any circumstances.
    Firmware v1.06 and told by Garmin Connect, that this is the most recent version.
