not getting notifications on iphone from child's garmin bounce messages

I am having the exact same issue as described in this post: Message Notifications not working on iPhone - Bounce - Health & Wellness - Garmin Forums. I also have notifications set to on, I have background refresh on for this app, and I don't get any notification for messages sent from my child's bounce. I do get notifications for location changes (left home, etc.) but not for sent messages, which would be way more helpful. I also dont see messages update when actively looking at the thread in Garmin Connect Jr, and also have to close and reopen the comment thread to see updates. The post linked above notes that this was resolved 11 months ago. How was it resolved and what do I need to do to get this similarly fixed? Thanks.

  • Hello and thank you for your post. About not receiving notifications, please ensure you have all the notification settings enabled as mentioned in this FAQ: How Do I Manage the Garmin Jr App Notifications I Receive on My Phone?

    Secondly, we have other reports of message thread not updating if the message thread is open on the Garmin Jr app. I'd like to get you added to this report, so that you can be notified once there is a solution or if we have any questions. For this we would need permission to email you and your country of residence.

  • I am also not receiving notifications of messages. What is the point of my daughter cannot get ahold of me. I have all notifications set correctly as per your above link. Please advise a fix for this. Thank you 

  • Same problem. In town, good cel coverage, messages may or may not be received. Why are we paying monthly subscription fee for such spotty service? Considering returning product. Please help. 

  • I am having the same problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my iPhone and still nothing. Could you send me a fix?

  • And we are having the opposite issue where the watch sends check ins and messages and we get them instantly but the app won't deliver or do checking from app. And Garmin has been no help other than it must be and lte issue. Well if watch can send to app with no problems even from in school then it's not an lte issue. And I can even send messages sitting right beside child from app to watch and he doesn't get them even under wifi. Offered replacement but none in stock and could takes weeks to be in stock or I could purchase a new one and get refund on watch once sent back. Very disappointed in Garmin product and support. There will be no more Garmin products in this house cause they clearly are not customer driven.

    1. We are having the exact same issue. Frustratingly it makes the purpose of having and purchasing the device entirely defunct (!). The idea is for communication in emergency circumstances for my 9 year old. It initially worked very well and has now stopped after we had to replace the first device (as it had a fault), to a new one. I have checked everything and I cannot find any source of the actual problem.
