On 27.13, if I'm following a course, especially long one, of ~30Km, if I detour and recalculation starts (as I want it to be) it will not finish and hold on 80% until I return to the original course, and then gets the "course found" notice.

I can load even more than 400 km long course with no problem, but when I detour, it has big problems to recalculate, and this is down until cca 100 km long courses. Courses shorter than 100 km usually…
I'm the only one having this?
I'm not having this problem with my 840
You might try to disable 'Popularity Routing'. Even Garmin admits that this option gives problems at this moment.
Removing the 3rd party map I had didn't help.
I did another factory reset and also removed the local map teh garmin shop installed on the day I purchase.
Let's see...
What problem do you have with 400km route detouring? I usually use 500-600km routes with no problem, but never try to detour.
Yes, but on some of my routes I can change it. When I try to change it and save the route, it still keeps the same rerouting mode.
So with the latest software and after full reset where I was left only with the original most update (10.2025) maps, it begun well but to the end of the course when I detoured, it was not even getting to the calculation 80% but went straight to the "Error calculating route".
I even tried the ask to get a course to the start point, directly and got the same error.
On my Edge Explore 2, after the last software update and some fiddeling around to get the Topo Active Map EU-West installed, I observed once the same "Route Calculation Error". Stopped the navigation, removed the course from cache, reloaded the same course and 'Ride' (then follows new TBT calculation to 100%). At next deviation from course at the same location recalculation completed successfully as was the case at next deviations / recalculations.
Also, my experience is that sometimes you need to re-cache courses before riding to avoid 'ghost' effects, strange straight calculatd route-lines, etc.. Maybe after major map changes the pointcache data get corrupted?
Thank you for your reply.
I was wondering if your case matches mine, as this time, after the reset to default+removing all maps except the Topo Active of middle east I had no course and only asked to return to my starting point.
Of course this builds a course, but even when I got the 1st error and then asked again for back to starting point I got the same.
It might uses the same course, can't tell, but i surely don't know how to handle it while in the mountains w/o a laptop...
@rbclass It starts to recalculate, but it takes so long time and mostly it ends with an error "unable to reroute" or something like that. But it catches back when I come back on route.
I dont know, i have it set up to prompt me before recalculation, so it never does it autmatic and i never do it manually
