thank you all for your participation in this thread, can you please send me a direct message referencing this thread with the following info?
Garmin-Maeve . I notice the xx.79 Beta for x30 devices which had one item,
seems to have been closed without Garmin comment or wrap…
I recognized the same :(
Every ride it keeps happening!
Same here !
All sensors dropped.
Varia, HR, speed, and cadence.
More over, sometimes I can't even connect them back again during the ride.
I'm starting to wonder if it is actually a 'downgrad' going from my bug free 830 to the 840 solar.
Same happened to me today. Lost an hour's power data mid-ride before I notice, pulled over and restarted the unit. I'm not starting to wonder. It *is* a downgrade. UI: worse. Reliability: worse. Unit/bezel size/weight: worse. Visibility: worse. Expense: way worse. Battery life: better. ClimbPro: good but not worth everything else.
The training features are utterly superfluous if you're on any training platform at all.
This is my fourth Garmin unit. My next will be a Wahoo. What sort of OS architecture allows a misbehaving IQ field to crash sensors?!
I also have been experiencing this (rarely, but annoying when it happens). I also have a Varia radar so maybe that’s the common factor here. Some additional info here if it helps: https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/cycling/f/edge-840-series/356573/all-sensors-disconnect-shortly-after-activity-start
Got the same every ride. 840 on charger in sleep mode. Power on, and...no sensors attached.
After Power Off and On everything looks good.
FW19.22
HR, PowerMeter, Di2, Varia, sometimes Phone
Happened again today after I removed all my Connect IQ fields except Windfield. I had a Varia RTL510 until this week, now I have an RTL515, and still it happens. I lost about an hour's power data this time. It's becoming useless for training outdoors at all and people on rides get annoyed when I pull over to reboot Every. Single. Ride.
