Hello.
I have a non-solar version.
1) Wi-Fi would not connect unless I tuned off WPA2/3 set it to just 2(Unifi wifi).
2) Tempueture reads 10-20 degers(F) hotter than actual.
I hope both can be fixed in future FW.
Take care

timc166293 I'll have to agree with looigi's explanation of the temperature reading from your device. This is by design, the thermometer can read higher than other sources due to the internal heat from…
If it's like the past Edge units, the temperature sensor is integral to the baro sensor because the baro sensor is temperature sensitive and its temp is needed to correct its reading. Displaying that…
The Tempe works with the 1040/840/540
timc166293 We have edited the title of this thread since the bulk of the conversation has shifted, I hope this is okay with you.
For anyone with questions or problems with their wifi connection, please see the parent thread on that topic here.
Thanks, Is there a reason Garmin has not enabled the Tempe on other recent Edge devices?
The temperature reading of the E840 is wrong compared to the E800 and E830 if it is suposed to give information on the environment Sure charging inreases the temperature readings for those older devices as it does make the device warmer, but the 840 indicates about 2 degrees warmer in a closed environment. With air cooling at 15mph and no charging the E800 and E830 seem to get the temperature about right. My E840 inicates about 8 degC too warm in the same scenario. I suspect temperature sensor location in the E840 is more suceptible to warming of internal components or is less exposed to the cooling effect of the case or perhaps the pressure sensor air hole. The pressure air holes of the E800 and E830 are further forward than on the E840 where they are just infront of the mount which will deflect air. To be a useful perhaps software compensation is required for yhr 840. Might mount the E840 base forward to see if it makees a difference.
