Edge 830 turning off and on mid ride?

Hi I’ve updated my edge 830 and it’s turning off and on mid ride. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Is there a fix?

I am facing the same now as well. My Garmin is restarting on almost every ride. Anyone found a solution to it?

Hi TomHH, thanks for the advice. To be honest I tried every solution thrown at me by Garmin at the time. I believe I even reinstalled the firmware through a process they walked me through on Garmin express. The issue was the unit was out of warranty and so frustrating I just gave up

In case it helps, I did find the reboot issue with the Edge 830 was more prevalent when I had the quarc power meter connected. It would reboot 2-3 times per ride sometimes. I tried the Garmin power pedals and while it still rebooted it was much less frequent. I did raise this observation with Garmin support but unfortunately never managed to resolve the issue. Edge 840 seems okay so far, but I agree - the firmware upgrades seem to be the slow death of Garmin units

Of course! It will delete everything! So do a backup of your Edge. Then you can restore some of your data. But I wouldn't restore the Settings.fit (contains the settings). So you have to set up your Edge as it is new.
