Edge 830 turning off and on mid ride?

Hi I’ve updated my edge 830 and it’s turning off and on mid ride. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Is there a fix?

I am facing the same now as well. My Garmin is restarting on almost every ride. Anyone found a solution to it?

yes, it happened twice last week ...

edge 830  has restarted during  activity recoding, and I have no data during the restart, with straight line on the map

what is the reason ?

No idea.

Garmin said they hadn’t heard of this and I was the only one. Told me to do a factory reset.

Worth a try, that’s a frequent cause of the device turning on/off or resetting. If the factory reset doesn’t work then you’re likely looking at a replacement. Good luck!

I experienced the same, twice this week, except that for me, I lost nothing. I was able to continue recording my rides. One of the app crashed and was never able to come back.

I've had this happen to me twice. Generally beforehand I experienced dropouts of all connected devices (Varia, power meter, speed etc)

seems that factory reset solved the problem ... no restart for more than weak ...

I got a brand new edge 830, use 2 times, and yesterday following a track, it rebooted 500m from the final destination.
It restarted properly and keep recording, I only lose the Workload data.
As I only used twice I don't think a factory reset will solved this bug.

I don't know if it can affect, but I also got a Fenix 6X with plenty of activities, I don't know if they were also transfered to the Edge in the history.

Hello, any update on this? Mine is doing it too. I'd like to not do a factory reset if I then have to re-build my activity profiles.
