Pairing failed

I just updated to the latest firmware version 6, everything is up to date in garmin express, I have moto g7 with android 10 and now the phone pairing won't work anymore. A couple of days ago, just before the update the edge would not connect to the phone anymore, so I removed it from the edge device, removed it from the bluetooth devices on the phone and removed in the gamrin connect app.

Since then there is no way to pair the two, it starts off fine detecting the edge 830 and starting the pairing process, when I select the edge 830 from the list of bluetooth devices in garmin connect it asks me to pair with the pin and it seems to go well and the progress bar reaches about 50% with "completing setup..." and the fails with pairing failed.

I tried to reset the device, remove the bluetooth connection, restarted about 50 times both devices reinstalled garmin connect, uninstalled the connect IQ app, cleared the storage cache of the bluetooth app.

Any thoughts?

After my initial success, the 830 stopped connecting. Then this morning, GCM forgot about both of my devices. I was able the pair the watch, but the 830 shows the same problem. Interestingly Garmin Connect Web no longer shows my 830 either. I guess I need to repeat this whole nonsense.

Does anyone know if the latest update to GCM fixes this? I noticed an update but am not brave enough to try repairing.

4.35? Nope, at least not with my 530 with latest firmware 6.20.

4.22 works, but auto-update to 4.35: broken.

Garmin Connect 4.35, firmware 6.20. Still the same issue.

Installing 4.22 fixes it, but my Nokia 5.3 is managed and I cannot turn off auto-update.

There must be somithing different in 4.22 vs. newer versions...

@Garmin, please compare and fix.

And today story..

by mistake the buttons has pressed and the mobile name in the edge changed...so there is a need to re-pair the LG G7 Android 10 again!

long story short...needed to uninstall GC reinstall 4.19.1 --> connected successfully!

since i felt it was my lucky day..i have tried to upgrade to current 4.35 -> no success, after the upgrade the edge was in the list of devices but not paired!!

so again failing the pairing process.

so once more (Garmin i think you need to pay me Hugh SW QA fees) i have installed 4.19.1 then installed 4.34 and finally 4.35 version and walla it works like a charm

Garmin you need to fix your poor (and I'm very gentle here! ) my next product will non Garmin stuff, it cannot be that every two weeks i need to repair the GCM faults you create

One extremely unhappy customer!!

Has this been fixed? I have noticed several updates to GCM. I would love to try and re-pair but do not want to go through the whole old version thing again. My 830 is being stubborn when trying to connect.

I had the same problem with the edge 1030 plus. To fix the problem, I chose from the list to pair an edge 1000 and the 1030 connected so try an older version of a watch or Garmin edge.
