Phased Rollout is at 100% as of 8/07/19 6:30 pm CST
I had a similar issue and contacted Garmin support. Problem was I wasn’t putting the light into pairing mode, I was just turning it on. So then edge only picked up the radar part. You need to do…
Why no direct download link available, as for the beta's, for the interested visitors of this forum, instead of waiting till Garmin Express decides to upgrade?
Grade was perfect for me on 3.50. Even on betas I had only few strange readings. On 4.10 however grade is all over the place. Often totally not corresponding with reality (ascent and -x% showing). Will reset the device but this is not good
Interesting, I’ll give that a try next time. I’m going from memory of upgrading my 510, but thought re-pairing BT after an update was always a necessary step.
Thanks
Upgraded from the latest Beta to fw 4.10 this morning - first ride in a long time with no sensor dropouts so that's promising though time will tell. The one thing missing however with the new FW is noticed during a cycling workout.. the countdown beeps still work but the little start/finish triple chime noise is gone that signals the beginning/end of a segment of the workout. I do appreciate however that the ride no longer pauses/stops when the workout is complete!
Hello,
Edge 830 ( 4.10)
complete connection lost after 2 h . He doesn’t find the phone and sensors after a short coffee break. Manual search without success . The connection was restored immediately after Tour Save and reboot of the unit .
Connection: I-phone 8 (BT), Powermeter FC9100P (Ant+), Heart Rate Garmin (Ant+)
The same configuration worked flawless before with the last Beta Software.
Regards
same here, after 1:26 min dropped all sensors and never came back, after hard reset got back sensors.
Just tried that after upgrading - didn't work for me. The Garmin only paired correctly after loading GC app. I've only seen bluetooth pairing work properly on my iPhone 8 on a very early firmware release. None of the betas were better for me.
Easy enough to fix by loading GC app so not what I would call a critical fault.
The issue with BT connectivity has certainly not been fixed yet; although the unit connects with the phone at the beginning it drops the connection during the ride for unknown reason and won't reconnect by itself. Rebooting HW does nothing.
It hasn't fixed BT for me. At least I don't seem to be able to upload the ride until I get close to WIFI.
I noticed the same problem during a ride in Belgium (using 4.10). The grade indicator at times indicated negative values (descent) while I was clearly climbing at 5%+. Over the 110K ride, the 830 reported total ascent of 1.359 meters. Strava corrected this to 2.293 meters, a huge difference.
