Phone Language Support Error Message

A friend had this.
It was "solved" by setting the language to english on the gps. 
Phone and app can remain in your own language.

The language on the GPS is English.   That didn't help. 

I'm wondering if it's the notifications in the phone app.   I keep turning off app notifications in the Garmin app.    Every time I install a new app on my phone, I notice that the notification switch for that app automatically gets enabled.   Should I not worry about this?

If I turn off the notification options in the GPS, except for SMS, then I don't get this problem.  So probably some of my apps are sending things to the phone/GPS that the GPS doesn't understand?    It would be nice to figure this out, also it would be good if the default is to leave new apps unchecked, rather than checked..

Still having this issue on 5.50 software.  Guess I'll have to log a case with support.  Specifically this is what shows up

Tried changing the language to Spanish and then back to English.  Also tried uninstalling Garmin Connect on my phone and reinstalling it.  Will have to see if this helps at all.  On the phone with Garmin Support, but doesn't look like they have run into this issue recently.

Also having this problem.  I took the steps suggested of deleting the text folder and resynching the device.  I the problem came back when I received a group text.

I haven't had this issue since I changed from English to Spanish and back to English on my Edge 530.   Also, uninstalling and reinstalling Garmin Connect on my phone.

mogulman - Do you have Audio Prompts enabled in the Garmin Connect app? (Open the Garmin Connect App>Select Menu>Garmin Devices>Select Edge 530>Activity Options>Audio Prompts)
