Why does the distance to the next turn not update?

Garmin.... oh Garmin....

PLEASE change the "next turn" screen such that the distance at the top left actually shows the current distance to the next turn. For some reason it shows an old value at the top left and the current value at the bottom left. See image. (thanks dcrainmaker)

It would be nice to configure the lower data fields individually. Currently it's quite confusing if at the top it says 0.1 mile to the next turn ... even though I'm standing just next to the turn.

It would also be nice to have more options regarding the changing screens, i.e. configure screen 1 to show for 10s, screen 2 for 5s, screen 3 only manually.

edit: if map screen is set to high contrast, the turn screen still shows the normal map. This should use the same setting.

  • Evidently it's hard coded currently - quote from the 5.24 bug fixes: "Updated the turn review map page so the distance on the top left of the screen updates and the data field on the bottom left shows Heading."

Would be nicer to be able to remove these fields now that the distance countdown work.......a larger view of the map.

  • I agree, though I’m already quite happy that the main issue is fixed now Slight smile

id also really appreciate the possibility to set up data pages that only show up when really needed. For example I would like to have the battery capacity data fields for all my electronic gear - but I don’t want to see this page every 2 min when I’m on a ride, but only at the end of it

  • Thank-you for fixing the distance count down on a turn. But now could we have the ability to choose whether we want data fields on the pop up map screen or whether we want to have a map only screen - to see more of the surrounding area at the turn.

And the hard coded (cannot be removed) Heading Directions on the pop up : NW, West, East.....etc......is not very useful in reality. Who really knows their compass headings while trying to avoid pedestrians, dogs, cars and potholes. And the same time trying to follow the invisible magenta colored route !
