Why does the distance to the next turn not update?

Garmin.... oh Garmin....

PLEASE change the "next turn" screen such that the distance at the top left actually shows the current distance to the next turn. For some reason it shows an old value at the top left and the current value at the bottom left. See image. (thanks dcrainmaker)

It would be nice to configure the lower data fields individually. Currently it's quite confusing if at the top it says 0.1 mile to the next turn ... even though I'm standing just next to the turn.

It would also be nice to have more options regarding the changing screens, i.e. configure screen 1 to show for 10s, screen 2 for 5s, screen 3 only manually.

edit: if map screen is set to high contrast, the turn screen still shows the normal map. This should use the same setting.

What would be really cool, since we’re asking for Christmas gifts would be modifying the regular distance to next field to indicate the direction. Sometime the prompt in turn by turn is too late. For example when you have to merge into traffic to make the turn.

Seriously thinking of returning my 530 because of this bug. I think it's just a few units that's affected - see Rides of Japan's reply - he doesn't have this issue.

As mentioned before, all units show this behaviour. It seems more likely that he simply didn’t understand your question ;-)

My LBS says i can return under warranty. Just dont want to be stuck with a big bug that Garmin never fixes. As mentioned - i consider it broken till it's fixed

I Wonder whether this will ever be fixed ....

edit: though I've just realized that my Edge does not update, so maybe they did change it with 5.10? :) there is hoping......

Push - this is still an open issue. Garmin, surely this is easy to fix, just a small change in the code?

I've been told it will be fixed in the next release. The correct value is available in the bottom left of the screen so you do have access to the information.

That would be great

i know the value is at the bottom, but during a ride a lot is going on and so I sometimes look at the wrong value + messages appear at the bottom as well and hide the correct value

Just want to report that 5.24 beta fixed this issue - The distance countdown works properly now. But we're stuck with the 2 fields - Directions Heading and Time to Point. I tried to remove these 2 fields but it looks like it's a permanent fixture.

theres not even a config page for those data fields, right? So Garmin would have to add one in order to allow a change of the field
