Pause Workout - Feature Request

The inability to pause a workout without pausing the entire ride is a HUGE shortcoming of the Edge 530.  On a stationary trainer, sure, we can all follow a workout exactly as prescribed.  In the real world we have to deal with stop lights, varying terrain, wind, and other variables that necessitate the ability to be flexible.

Wahoo NAILED this with their Elemnt units with a pause, skip forward, or skip backward option right on the workout screen.  With the Garmin Edge 530 (and 830, I'm assuming) this renders the workout feature basically useless for me.

Would anyone else like to see this come to the Edge 530/830?

  • The 530 does allow you to pause, advance a step and go back a step in workout.

If you are on the workout page press the context menu button (top right button). This will bring up the following menu allowing you to pause and change steps. If you scroll down the menu list there is an option to see the step notes.
