Backlight should come on with first touch and have no UI interaction

Hi everyone,

I wanted to see if anyone else finds the current backlight behavior annoying on the Edge 1050.

Right now, if I have the backlight timeout enabled and the screen goes dark to save battery, touching the screen does two things at once:

  1. It turns the light back on.
  2. It registers a click on whatever is under my finger. <-- unwanted

This is frustrating because I often accidentally click on random things, or open the home menu when all I want to do is see the map or my current stats.

I think the software needs a small update. When the backlight is off (due to timeout), the first touch should only wake up the screen. It should not press any buttons or interact with the map. (This is how smartphones work when they dim after no interaction.)

Does this bother anyone else? Hopefully, Garmin can fix this in a future update.
