My Edge 1040 will not start. It keeps looping at start up but goes no further

When powering up, the Garmin logo appears and then it disappears, before looping and trying to boot up over and over again.

I have tried to reset with 30 second power button but no success, except I sometimes see a black line across the screen before disappearing.

I have tried to reset pressing start and lap + power, before releasing power.

I have managed to access the USB mode to connect to Garmin Express, while it allows me to see my files on my PC, it doesn't help me diagnose or solve the problem.

Help please.

Hi there, with me the same problem but when I finally succed in connecting woth my pc I noticed that there were lots of files in de NewFilesFolder. So as you adviced I did delete them all as well 1 file…

Latest update

After holding down the lap button following a power down of the unit, I can see a Garmin device pop up on the Device Manager. The Edge screen shows Loader 25.25

Once the Edge enters MTP mode…

Hi,

have the same problem. endless looping and no access to garmin edge 1040. ether not possible to connect to computer because is rebooting endless.

it is frustrating. after troubles with fenix 7 I have no big problems with 1040. :-( I need the garmin edge on saturday for a bike race.
