Battery Life Issue not yet fixed in release 17.26.

Updated to version 17.26 and get an estimated battery life of 8 hours 95% battery

    I recently did a long 322 mile ride over 49hrs and 30min and noticed that the battery drained much quicker than it had previously before updating to v17.26.  I also noticed the remaining battery estimates  were much lower than they were previously. On a full charge, running battery saver it was estimating 26hrs remaining, without battery saver enabled only 13hrs. Garmin actually sent me a replacement device thinking it was related to my unit specifically. The new device arrived and fresh out the box with a fully charged battery I got the same estimated times as above. This is very disappointing since most of us probably purchased this model specifically because of extended battery life they advertise. Hopefully they can put a patch out to fix this issue quickly, or at the very least give us the option to downgrade to previous firmware versions.

    We are working on an improvement to the remaining battery life estimate. This should be available in a future software update.

    my case: 85%, 1040 shows estimated 14h，firmware v 17.29

    In my real test: riding indoor 1h20min, battery from 93% to 85%.

    Probably half of the battery life when I bought it a couple monthes ago.

    So sad.

    Hello,

    Could anyone from garmin check when they planning fix this battery issue ? it tooks almost 3 months and nothing change, very sad and unproffesional...

    Hello,

    I have done more tests with SOLAR 1040, right know I can only tell, that GARMIN KILL battery in this device ! with last updates 10h-12h is maximum, this is disaster - compere previous generation 1030 (25h).

     GARMIN you should change immediately, or do cashback program for this device, right know is peace of ***.

    If you are experiencing inaccurate battery life estimate when you go to the status widget, then tap on the Battery Icon, we are working on a fix for this that will be in a future software update. Thank you.

    Yep been onto Garmin they asked how long battery actually lasts - mine is about 22 hours. No resolution.

    Install the IQ data field called Battery Up Down. It writes battery level and discharge rate to the .fit file and you can examine it in Garmin Connect. Maybe it'll provide clues for you. it's neat to see anyway.
