Yep! mentioned in the first 17.05 beta by many people, not fixed in public release! This is really bad QA!!
This will sure get a lot of user complaining about it! (even if this seems to be a calculation issue rather than a battery issue)

I hope it's only a calculation error and not an optimization problem, I hope the battery will always last more than 60 to 70 hours depending on the settings!!

It can hardly be a surprise, there are at least half a dozen reports of this through various 1040 17.xx  beta versions, all still have an “under review” status, wonder if anyone actually looked at it?

Same here. Big issue

I rode for 24 hours with 17.20 and might have used 50% of the battery. I rode 110km with 17.25 earlier this week. While I honestly don't know, I don't think there was inordinate battery drain. Upgraded to 17.26 today. I have a 600k this weekend and will report after the ride.

Same issue. Reported battery life of 11 hours on fully charged 1040 (bought couple of weeks ago) with 17.26 firmware.

I do believe it is not only a calculation issue. The battery seems to drain faster!!! Just lost 10% on a 1h45min ride... more than double of previous software versión! GARMIN FIX THIS ASAP!!!
