New Edge 1040 Series Public Beta 14.14 Now Available

A new Beta software for the Edge 1040 Series has been released. Full change log, instructions, and software for installing the beta can be found in the link below.

    why garmin edge 1040 don't have Light Network Settings?
    This function on avalible on Garmin 1000 - 1030 plus

    Yes, this was the ONLY way around this scary issue. Was stuck for 90 minutes at midnight before ride in the AM, MAC and PC computers would not even see the garmin to delete the .gpx file that may have caused the problem. 

    I did follow these valuable steps and it saved me!

    thanks all.

    now I am going to add some more routes on to see if happens again.

    Maybe I will just do wirelessly with the app?

    this will not get better as Garmin says this is normal. Not sure why they think it is normal, had 1030- so much better. Obviously the way the 1040 processes the filters used to determine the gradient is diff.

    yes, could see why this took so long to get it as you have to do things exactly correct- no one mentioned the word LOADER that appears up top- that's how we knew we were getting there!

    No I didn't join the Beta program, unless I accidentally clicked on something.  I found this thread when I was trying to find out what to look for in the new release.   It did come over the air I'm pretty sure unless it automatically downloaded when I hooked it up to my computer to charge it and it downloaded from GC.  Either way, surprised me.  I was part of the development program and it's a pre production 1040 Solar so maybe it was deployed OTA to those units accidentally.  I was surprised to see it show up since I thought it was still in Beta.  When I started it for a ride the other day it asked me if I wanted to install and I postponed it till after the ride was over.  It said it would take 3 minutes to install. 

    I did a trainer ride with it yesterday and it worked fine, haven't had a chance to try it outside yet but will later this week. .

    would love to see the compass working, would help to orient yourself at intersection when not moving. Did a 24h ride with 14.13 over the weekend and it was working flawlessly. Big thanks for getting all these little annoyances ironed out, so we can again focus on all the improvements and new features this new device has ;-)
    btw. the solar charging or the report/statistic of it seems to stop at midnight and doesn't start again in the morning. I agree it is a niche use case :)

    Why do you think 14.14 can not be installed on the 1040 Solar? Lots of people have done it already.
