Stages Power Meter. Low Battery Warning

I have a Stages V3 Power meter but have never seen a low battery warning on my Edge 1030+ when the battery has died in the power meter during a ride.

I've just called Garmin UK and they have no idea if the warning should appear or not. All that they could offer was that the Di2 battery level is shown!

I've reached out to Stages and so far all that they have offered is the 'Stages Cycling' App ( as opposed to the 'Stages Power app) which displays battery %.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has any experience of this  :-)

Thanks!

  • That’s very useful before those that aren’t familiar with the nuances of it, particularly in cold weather. For me though, from my original post, I never get any sort of a warning whatsoever on my 1030 plus. I used to with my edge 1000 but that was only about 5 minutes before the battery died completely :-) . On the odd occasion when I’ve remembered to use the Stages Cycling App and found the orange or yellow warning on the battery status, the Garmin hasn’t recognised it. I don’t know how the battery status is communicated in Ant+ and if there are thresholds for (say) low and very low voltage. I think Stages have a threshold of 2.4 Volts as the absolute low. It seems to me that there is much room for improvement in the way Garmin interpret and present the information Slight smile

  • I started using the Connect IQ widget called Battery State that will show the voltage of all your sensors. It works very well and it has allowed me to view the Stages power meter battery level very easily.

  • Sorry for the late reply! I've installed the Battery State App - it's brilliant! Two decimal places of battery voltage too! Even if it's no accurate, it will still show you any drop since the last check :-)Thanks for sharing it!
