I selected Europe as the only region I want to install on my device.
However, GE keeps insisting on informing me that I can put additional maps onto the device- is there any way to remove this prompt?

This has been escalated with new Express logs on the latest version. I will update this thread when I have more information to share.
This is still an open ticket and I apologize for the lack of info. I understand it is frustrating to hear "we are still working on it" over and over, but it is also frustrating to hear nothing back.…
For folks seeing this issue in Express, could any of you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing exactly?
There is a lot of good description in the thread already, but I'm just looking for any additional…
Same issue here – super annoying.
Garmin Express informs me again and again that 5 item need to be updated. After successful download (either one or all five) the update(s) are applied. Then the…
I have called Garmin Support it's an issue with Garmin Express, I was told it should be fixed in the next GE update.
Seeing this as well. Tells me I have 5 maps to update. Over and over.
I have applied a "workaround" . . . Not very elegant but at least all my cycling maps are being correctly "seen" by Garmin Express. I went onto "Map details" and selected "reinstall map" for the three maps that were already installed (and up to date).
There must be a better way than this but it worked for me.
I am on a Mac and using GE 7.1. I can select maps under 'Manage Maps' to be deleted from the device but when I get a screen saying'Ready to Apply Changes estimated install time 6 hrs' and on the next row 'Change Summary - Delete - Map :Routable Cycle Map of South America 2020.10'. I press continue and get an error 'Applying changes and another window pops up saying 'Error some changes not applied : retry or continue?'
Why? I only want to have EU maps at the moment.
Im on 7.2.0.0 and I get the same errors when trying to manage my maps. Downloading and never actually successfully updating my Edge has now filled my Macbook. Why is downloading so painfully slow? Is there a cache I can empty?
For me it was resolved few month ago, but the problem now re occurred . I am on Garmin Express 7.2.0.0 on an IMAC.
Annoying it is back again
I'm experiencing the same issue with map updates on Garmin Edge 1030 Plus on the latest version of Garmin Express (7.2.0.0). Infinite loop of saying I have updates to install; starts installing; gets 50 percent of the way through the download; fails; says I have updates to install; ...
Same here except in my case installation never gets started. Endless loop of garming express telling me I have updates for the Garmin Edge 1030 Plus. I updated my Garming Edge 530 without issues.
This problem has occurred for years. No update has taken it away. With my Fenix 5x nothing I did would fix it. So I stopped using express for a while. I eventually bought a Garmin Edge 1030plus last year on the day they were released and have had the same problem with it ever since I got it.
Today I updated Express to the latest version and I had to re-add my devices. My Fenix 5x sync'd and updated without a problem, however my edge 1030 plus still fails to do so. I have given up trying to remove the maps in other countries that I don't use. I am only interested in Australia and NZ, but cannot remove the other maps, and only update my local maps.
Sounds like Garmin need to get their act together and fix these silly issues. I know it isn't hard to do. I am a software engineer and do this kind of thing day in day out. You see a problem (bug) you fix it. I can appreciate that some issues are harder than others to fix but this seems like it would be one of the easier ones to fix.
