Garmin Express- continued prompts to update maps

I selected Europe as the only region I want to install on my device. 

However, GE keeps insisting on informing me that I can put additional maps onto the device- is there any way to remove this prompt?

  • New version 7.3 for Windows too. Shame it still just goes round and round in circles. Says "Updates Available", so you press "Install" and it then takes you back to a screen that says "Updates Available"

  • For folks seeing this issue in Express, could any of you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing exactly? 

    There is a lot of good description in the thread already, but I'm just looking for any additional details to help escalate this issue.

  • I asked Garmin Express to check for updates, and it told me Version 7.3 for Windows was available.  I upgraded, and installed the current Trailforks map.  That seemed to work, so I unplugged the Edge, closed Garmin Express, and started again.  This time, I had only two updates - North America and Europe.  I installed the current North America map successfully,  I'm leaving Europe for another time, since I cannot travel currently.

    Everything seems to be working for me at the V7.3 level of Garmin Express.

    forgotrafe, maybe you need to disconnect your Edge, close Express, and start over.  I hope it works for you, too!

    I edited my post to remove the check mark on "Suggest as Answer".  I don't know why it worked for me, and leaves others hanging.


  • Hope this helps. Installed GE 7.3.0.0 but it didn't help. Again, this is with a Garmin 1030 Plus with 4.0 firmware installed.

  • Tried all those things and nothing gets me out the loop.

  • Stevenciu - that video is exactly the behaviour I get, including the empty Manage Maps screen. 

  • Me too, for weeks now. This issue was supposed to be escalated. The most expensive Edge and it doesn't work yet the 530 works. If this is Garmin idea of escalation then we will be waiting a lot longer. 

  • I cannot watch the video on my Mac for some reason. It says unsupported video format.
